Day 1 Wed 27 Feb
  Arrive Cairo own arrangements. Transfer to Four Seasons First Residence Hotel with views of both the Nile and the Great Pyramids. Day at leisure. Optional tours available. Welcome dinner and overnight in the hotel.
Day 2 Thu 28 Feb

Full day tour to Giza Pyramids, Sphinx and Egyptian Museum of Antiquities. Dinner and overnight in hotel.
Day 3 Fri 29 Feb
09h00 Tour of Saqqara and Memphis. Afternoon at leisure. Dinner and overnight in hotel.
Day 4 Sat 01 Mar
09h00 Transfer to Cairo airport for flight to Luxor. Board Royal Lotus for river adventure. Lunch on board. Afternoon visits to the East Bank of Luxor, Karnak and Luxor Temples, the West Bank of Luxor including Valley of Kings, Valley of Queens, the Temple of Hatshepsut and photo stop at Colossi of Memnon proceeded by Luxor Temple visit. Afternoon tea and dinner on board. Overnight on board in Luxor.
Day 5 Sun 02 Mar
  Early Sailing to Edfu. Buffet breakfast on board. Afternoon visit to the Temple of Horus at Edfu. Afternoon tea on board while sailing to Kom Ombo. Evening visit to the Temple of Sobek at Kom Ombo. “Egyptian Night” dinner on board, including Galabeyya party with a chance for all guests to dress in traditional Egyptian Galabeyyas for the night. Overnight on board in Kom Ombo.
Day 6 Mon 03 Mar
  Buffet breakfast on board while sailing to Aswan. Lunch and afternoon tea on board. Afternoon visits to the Temple of Philae on Agilika Island, the Unfinished Obelisk at the Ancient Granite Quarries, and the Aswan High Dam. Farewell dinner on board, with oriental folkloric show. Overnight on board in Aswan.
Day 7 Tue 04 Mar
08h00 Transfer to airport for flight to Abu Simbel. Visits to the temples of Ramses II and his wife Nefertari. Transfer to airport for one-and-a-half hour flight to Khartoum, Sudan. Afternoon at leisure. Dinner and overnight at Al Salam Rotana Hotel.
Day 8 Wed 05 Mar
09h00 Visit to the Sudanese National Museum of Ethnography and the National Museum of Sudan. Afternoon visit to Bait Al-Khalifa Museum. Lunch, dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 9 Thu 06 Mar
08h00 Transfer to Khartoum Airport for 3 hour flight to Entebbe, Uganda.
12h00 Arrive Entebbe and transfer to Imperial Resort Beach Hotel.
13h30 Afternoon visit to the island of Ngama and its orphaned chimpanzees. Dinner and overnight in the hotel.
Day 10 Fri 07 Mar
08h00 Depart for visit to Jinja, the source of the Nile (two-and-a-half hour drive from Entebbe).
09h15 Mabira Forest Walk en-route.
13h00 Lunch at Jinja Nile Resort. Dinner and overnight at hotel at the Imperial Beach Resort Hotel.
Day 11 Sat 08 Mar
09h00 After immigration and customs formalities we depart Entebbe airport for 1 hour flight to Kilimanjaro, Tanzania
10h00 Board vehicles for two-and-a-half drive via Lake Manyara to Ngorongoro Farmhouse.
11h00 Afternoon at leisure to relax and enjoy the serene atmosphere on the coffee farm. Dinner and overnight at lodge.
Day 12 Sun 09 Mar
  After breakfast, game drive excursion with lunch on floor of crater. Dinner & overnight at lodge.
Day 13 Mon 10 Mar
10h00 Breakfast at the Lodge. Transfer to Serengeti mobile tented camp in Ndutu area.
12h00 Arrive at the camp for lunch and afternoon game drive. Dinner & overnight at the camp.
Day 14 Tue 11 Mar
09h00 Breakfast in camp. Morning and afternoon game drives in Serengeti. Lunch, dinner and overnight at the camp.
Day 15 Wed 12 Mar
08h00 Transfer to airstrip for domestic flight to Kilimanjaro airport.
11h30 Board aircraft for one-and-a-half hour flight to Zanzibar flying past Mt Kilimanjaro in Tanzania.
12h45 Arrive Zanzibar and transfer to Zanzibar Serena Hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 16 Thu 13 Mar
09h00 Island Spice Tour with lunch en route.
15h00 Stone City tour. Dinner and overnight at hotel.
Day 17 Fri 14 Mar
08h00 Transfer to Zanzibar airport for 2 hour flight to Mfuwe, Zambia.
11h00 Depart Mfuwe airport for 1 hour flight to Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe.
13h00 Arrive Victoria Falls. Transfer to the Victoria Falls Hotel for lunch. African Spectacular Show. Dinner and overnight at the Hotel.
16h00 Sunset Cruise on the Zambezi River. African Spectacular Show. Dinner and overnight at the Hotel.
Day 18 Sat 15 Mar
  Day at leisure. An activities desk is provided in the foyer of the hotel. Optional helicopter rides, river rafting, bungee jumping, craft village, guided tours of Falls.Dinner and overnight at hotel.
Day 19 Sun 16 Mar
10h00 After breakfast board Rovos Rail’s Pride of Africa. Dinner and overnight on the train.
17h00 Sundowner drinks in Hwange National Park.
Day 20 Mon 17 Mar
06h00 Game drive and breakfast Antelope Park, Dabuka. Lunch and dinner on board.

From Pyramid Station the Pride of Africa is hauled by a Rovos steam locomotive for the last leg of the journey to Pretoria.
17h00 Arrive at the Rovos Rail’s gracious Capital Park station in Pretoria. Transfer to the Sheraton Hotel in Pretoria. Dinner and overnight.
Day 22 Wed 19 Mar
09h00 City tour of Pretoria followed by a light garden lunch and a sightseeing walk of the Rovos depot.
15h30 Depart from Rovos Rail’s Capital Park Station for Cape Town.
Day 23 Thu 20 Mar
10h00 Arrive Kimberley for tour of ‘Big Hole’ and diamond museum.
13h00 Rejoin the train for lunch. Afternoon at leisure. Dinner and overnight on board the train.
Day 24 Fri 21 Mar
08h30 Arrive at Matjiesfontein Victorian Village for a 2 hour visit.
10h30 Depart for Cape Town.
18h00 Arrive Cape Town. Transfer, dinner and overnight at the Cape Grace Hotel on the V & A Waterfront.
Day 25 Sat 22 Mar
08h30 Depart for full day tour of Cape Winelands, including a visit to a famous wine estate with lunch en route. Afternoon visits to Franschhoek, Boschendal and Stellenbosch. Overnight at hotel.
Day 26 Sun 23 Mar
08h30 Depart for full day tour of Cape Peninsula (including Groot Constantia, Fish Hoek, Simonstown, Cape Point, Chapman’s Peak Drive, Hout Bay and Kirstenbosch). Light lunch en route.
Farewell dinner and overnight at hotel.
Day 27 Mon 24 Mar
  Depart Cape Town for home. Own arrangements.

Supplement: US$1,500 per person for upgrade to Royal Suite (train portion)


Tour price includes accommodation, meals, excursions and taxes plus alcoholic beverages only whilst on board the train and ‘plane. Excluded are gratuities, items of
a personal nature and alcoholic beverages off-train.
Visas may be required for South Africa, Zambia, Tanzania, Uganda, Sudan and Egypt,
and should be acquired prior to arrival.
Passengers are requested to have yellow fever inoculations, and are advised to take anti-malarial precautions as might be prescribed before commencing the journey.
